美國職籃NBA克里夫蘭騎士隊主將詹姆斯（LaBronJames）在自己的推特（Twitter）頁面貼文說，「為俄亥俄州立大學的全體學生禱告，拜託儘快妥善安置」（Praying for all students on Ohio State campus!!Please find safely asap!!）
俄亥俄州立大學公共安全主任莫爾（Monica Moll）表示，遭擊斃的凶嫌名叫阿爾坦（Abdul Razak AliArtan），他在人群內揮刀數分鐘後遭1名服務還不滿2年的警官擊斃。
1名聯邦政府官員證實凶嫌來自索馬利亞，18歲的阿爾坦是合法的美國永久居民。
另一政府消息管道指出，調查人員有理由相信，犯下校園攻擊案的阿爾坦是索馬利亞難民。俄亥俄州首府哥倫布市擁有為數眾多的索馬利亞人口。1051129
